District Museum - 4 Gdańska street
Description
The District Museum is preparing to open its building at 4 Gdańska Street. Its extension and conservation works have been completed. The activity in the renovated building will be inaugurated on 30 March with an exhibition of contemporary art.
The implementation of the project made it possible to preserve the cultural heritage of our city and to restore the former splendour of the 17th century historic building. At the same time, access to the goods of culture and art has been facilitated for a wider audience - both by guaranteeing full architectural and functional accessibility and by introducing a rich exhibition, cultural and educational programme.
The Museum will inaugurate its activities on 30 March at 3 p.m., if the restrictions connected with the epidemic situation do not change. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the results of the conservation renovation and expansion of the facility, which has been underway since 2016. A section of the premiere contemporary art exhibition will be open to the public: IMAGES OF NON-/REALITY. The exhibition will present creative statements in the context of both inspiration by prevailing ideas and attempts to develop their own artistic paths. It will include works by such artists as Tadeusz Kantor, Henryk Stażewski, Stanisław Wejman, Andrzej Wróblewski, Teresa Pągowska, Jan Cybis, and Józef Czapski.
