For those who feel better on land than on water, Bydgoszcz offers trips by a historical, hundred year old tram, Herbrand or Red eNka made in the 1960s. Those who like the atmosphere of Communist Poland will enjoy a ride by “Ogórek” (cucumber), which is our immortal bus Jelcz 043.

The Patron of Bydgoszcz in the year 2015 was Marian Rejewski as 2015 marked the 110th anniversary of this outstanding mathematician and cryptographer, who entered this world 16 August 1905 in Bydgoszcz – he lived with his parents at 6 Wilenskiej Street, where today there hangs a memorial plaque.
An event building the historical identity of Bydgoszcz, through the participation of residents of the city and region in historical re-enactments, exhibitions, concerts and accompanying activities, including sporting events.
The Premiere Festival is a national theatre festival organized since 2002 by the Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz. Its repertoire features world premieres of theatre plays.
A little bench (designed by Michał Kubiak) of Marian Rejewski – a famous mathematician and cryptologist, who contributed to the breaking of the code of the German cipher machine ”Enigma” during the Second World War. The monument is located on the corner of Street Gdańska and Śniadeckich.
The combined dance of light, water and music. Next to the Music District, only 10 min walk from the Old Town. Fountain has electronically controlled nozzles that move to the music. The ‘Water– Light–Sound’ multimedia shows take place in summer time everyday at 21.30 (in May/June only on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays). The shows are accompanied by classical music.

About 17 km from the city centre of Bydgoszcz, towards Dąbrowa Chełmińska, is the Ostromecko Palace and Park (9 Bydgoska Street).
In the south-eastern part of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, on the River Vistula, we find Włocławek, a city that in the past was called the “capital of Kuyavia”, one of the oldest towns in Poland.

Chełmno is a picturesque town on the River Vistula stretching across nine hills, the capital of the historical Chełmno Land.
Toruń is a city with a population of 200,000, situated on the River Vistula. The border of the two historical regions of Poland – Pomerania and Kuyavia – runs through the city. Toruń was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1233.
Koronowo is a town with a deep-rooted and rich history, situated in a picturesque valley of the River Brda, 25 km north of Bydgoszcz.Its defensive features as well as economic potential was noticed by the Cistercians.
During hot summer days there are plenty of opportunities for chilling out on one of the many lakes that can be found in the Bydgoszcz area.
